Playable Species

The world of Merlot is teeming with life of all shapes and kinds. It's rich with places to go, things to see, and people to meet.
What species will you meet on your journey?
All new players can make one scarce character for free, and unlimited plentiful characters.
They must be all common, unless if you get a rarer MYO ticket item or trait essence.

Scarce Species

Scarce species are those of limited numbers, and are further regulated. These are similar to Closed Species, and cannot be made without a proper item, MYO, or permission. You can easily get one through participation, and you can have as many as you like provided you worked for them!

Sqwagul Mystic |

Subtypes: Dragon (Sqwagul), Bird (Sqwagul)

Sqwaguls are a distant descendant of dragons. You'd probably not think that, though, they look to be pint-sized birds covered in fluffy fur.

Natural affinity: Mystic
Key Features: small, birdlike body, rounded rabbitlike ears, long tails

Quigar Growth |

Subtypes: Revenant (Quigar), Satyr (Quigar)

Quigars are the "gatekeepers" of death itself, unsettling but well-meaning beings who guide the dying to their final rest.

Natural affinity: Nature
Key Features: Bulky body, skull faces, third eye

Sugar Beast Mystic |

Subtypes: Sweetly (SB), Beastly (SB)

Natural affinity: Mystic
Key Features: Spiraling horns and tails, patterned horns, bulky body

Plentiful Species

Plentiful species are of high numbers. They’re less regulated, and can be made by anyone, whether you want to simply start out or just want to have more characters! These are similar to Open Species, and you can make as many of these as you want.
